For Teachers
Much of what I know has been graciously shared with me by colleagues and mentors. Learning from others has helped me find activities and resources that provide successful opportunities for meaningful learning. I believe it is important to collaborate, as it can help education evolve and better meet the needs of our students. The resources and lesson plans below have been especially successful in my classroom, and may be successful in yours as well!

Michigan Arts Education Instruction & Assessment (MAEIA)
MAEIA is a partnership between the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and music educators. Developed by the Michigan Assessment Consortium (MAC) and Data Recognition Corporation (DRC), MAEIA strives to provide quality resources in dance, music, theater, and visual arts. It has a large emphasis on lessons and activities with effective and viable assessment opportunities.

GIA Publications
Repertoire and resources from this publication are highly effective in any music education setting. I have purchased and use the Jump Right In! Series, both for general and instrumental classrooms.
